Background

During a vacation trip to Puerto Rico in 2002, I came upon a stray dog and her litter of seven pups in the town of Rincon. I decided to take all the pups to PAWS (the Puerto Rico Animal Welfare Society) for necessary care. After careful consideration, four of the pups found their way to caring families. One to a family member on the island and three joined me on my flight back to New York! The male was placed in a loving home and has grown to be a healthy and happy pet family member. Since I could not bear breaking up the only two females from that litter, I decided to keep them. Tamboo and Jelly became the newest additions to our pet family. Joined with Blackjack (my chow mix), the pack is now considered The Three Musketeers.

For 15 years, I worked in a fast paced IT profession, earning the respect of colleagues through hard work, dedication, and reliability. That profession provided me the experience to plan, prioritize, and take ownership of responsibilities. Though I enjoyed the challenge of working in corporate America, my love of pets led me to follow a dream of working with animals. After caring for the pets of friends and family during unexpected late nights at work, vacations, holidays, and trips to grooming appointments, I decided it was time to make Lazy Day Pet Services a reality and an official business in the spring of 2009.

FAQ

Why choose a pet sitter over boarding or kenneling?
Hiring a pet sitter allows your pet family member to remain in the comfort and security of their own environment. Experts in the field of animal behavior state that pets are happiest in their own environment.

Why choose a professional pet sitter?
Not all pet sitters are equal. A professional pet sitter delivers skillful, safe, compassionate care to all pets entrusted under their supervision. Additionally, they are licensed, insured, and can provide references.

We will schedule a 'meet and greet' appointment that is convenient for you. New client forms are available for download at the top of this page. During the appointment, we will spend time getting to know you, your pet, discuss your upcoming service, review documents, and finalize all arrangements.

What is the lead time needed prior to vacation plans?
We will always do our best to accommodate your plans so we request at least two week's notice. Holidays are especially busy so book early!
